The League of Women Voters of Franklin County will hold a “Candi-dating Night” for Greenfield Town Council candidates on Tuesday, Oct. 24, at Greenfield Community College’s dining commons.

Modeled on a speed-dating format, each candidate will rotate from table to table every nine minutes, while constituents remain in their seats. Members of the League will act as facilitators, with one stationed at each table to smooth the way and jumpstart conversations.

The event begins at 7 p.m.

“We like the potential for greater impact and personal dialogue this format offers,” said Marie Gauthier, president of the Franklin County League. “The aim is to encourage genuine dialogue between the candidates and voters, not speechifying.”

This event is fully accessible, free and open to the public, with complimentary refreshments. The annual town election will be Nov. 7. There are candidates for two at-large town council seats and seats for Precincts 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9.
