October 22, 2025 – People’s Forum on Graduation Readiness

Last Modified:

When: 6:30 – 8:00 PM

Where: On Zoom, Register here

Description:

We are inviting you (parents, students, educators, and community members from western Massachusetts) to a conversation about our schools and the education we want for our children.  Now that the public has voted to end the MCAS as a graduation requirement, the governor has appointed a committee to help decide what comes next.  We want to make sure they hear from us about the education we want for all our children, and the ways in which they can demonstrate what they have learned and are able to do.

What do we want?
That’s what the conversation will be about when we gather virtually for this forum.  It’s an opportunity to speak with each other, and then send your thoughts, insights and suggestions to our legislators, the Department of Education, the governor, and the media.

The question of how to educate our children is too important to leave to those in Boston alone. They don’t know our children, and most know little or nothing about our communities.  It’s crucial that they hear from us as they make decisions about how we best serve all our children.  Join us for the conversation on October 22, from 6:30-8 pm on zoom.
