MINUTES FROM JUNE 5, 2018 PEACE TASK FORCE MEETING

Present: Anna, Mel, Becky, Sally, Marty

1. World Situation

This Saturday vigil supporting Korean demonstrations. Group made a video to send to Korean to support their efforts.

Poor People’s Campaign. June 23rd Springfield is concludes. Renting a bus with FCCPR and Traprock and displaying our sign. Sign up list for potential bus at the General Assembly. Concern about level of organization of PPC. Will ask Josh Heinemann about cost of bus. Or carpool.

2. August H-N Days

Becky, Sally coordinating — would like to have others join the coordinating group. Becky will present at General Assembly.

a lot of activities planned. may help with outreach. Sally brought posters on the event. We have the Common for the Four days. Peace Bazaar.

Ira Helfand will probably speak. Trying to get Dan Ellsberg on live-feed. Panel discussion suggested by Pat — Andrea Avazian wants to have films on reconciliation, dancers, storytelling. Poetry reading. Paul Richman spoken word. Art work from Journey Camp. By the end of the first week in July we would like to have a working schedule. July 8th. Spaces?? Will churches donate. This is important in getting press coverage. Possibly get sponsors.

Pat reports that Greenfield and Montague libraries will have an event for parents and children during August 6 and 9.
