FCCPR General Assembly, Sunday, June 10, 2-4 p.m., Guiding Star Grange, 401 Chapman St., Greenfield
This November the “mid-term” elections will be a referendum on the Trump administration.
Even though we live in Massachusetts, FCCPR has a large part to play in this movement. We must show that we are opposed to the 1% stealing billions of dollars from us and we are opposed to endless wars that feed the coffers of the military-industrial complex.
We must also show that progress can be made, that through the actions of people we can make life better.
At this General Assembly we will be continuing to make plans to win key issues that will be on the ballot this November. These issues can only be won by educating and organizing people to vote on them.
* $15 minimum wage
* Paid family medical leave
* Safe staffing in our hospitals
* Instructing our state representatives to work for and vote for single-payer health insurance.
* Defeating the attempt to deprive transgender people of their civil rights
* Taxing the millionaires in Massachusetts to pay for education and infrastructure repair.
* We will also be electing a new state representative to replace Steve Kulik and electing a new State Senator to replace Stan Rosenberg. What part will FCCPR play in these elections?
* Electing Tahirah Amatul-Wadud to Congress
