Jo Comerford at FCCPR General Assembly

October 28th 2pm – 4pm

Montague Common Hall, 34 Main St.
Montague

We are pleased that  Jo Comerford, our next State Senator, will be in attendance to talk and answer questions that we have.

We will be organizing for people to stand out on Nov. 6th and pass out information on the 4 ballot questions that FCCPR has endorsed.

The Climate task force is asking that we endorse the “Stand for Forests” program. We will be
discussion and voting on this at the General Assembly. For more information please go to
https://stand4forests.org/endorse-the-platform/

For more information here is the video, 17-minute TED TALK, “US Forests and Our Climate
Emergency”.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mCu3rRZUjI

There will also be information on how to help with the national “Swing Left” program.

Labor Schmooze

The first annual Labor Schmooze organized by FCCPR was a great success.
Union folks gathered at the office and spent time schmoozing and
eating. Attending wereFranklin County union folks from the Massachusetts Teachers
Association, United Electrical, Radio & Machine Workers Union,
United Food & Commercial Workers Union & the Carpenters
Union. Hopefully this will be an annual event.

Tahirah
Wins Franklin County!

By a margin of 1,631 votes to 1,396, Tahirah Amatul-Wadud won Franklin County in the race
to represent the constituents of CD-1 in Congress.
Richie Neal, however, won the Primary election. FCCPR members were the first to endorse Tahirah Amatul-Wadud for Congress. Our endorsement meant that we would put considerable time and energy into her campaign and we did just that. Our work resulted in national endorsements of Tahirah by Indivisble and Our Revolution, and most importantly, victory in Franklin County. David Greenberg, of FCCPR, stated: “We clearly have started to build a movement of progressive people in CD1 who want more out of their congressional representative than we’re getting”. FCCPR thanks all of you who helped move this campaign forward.

Vote on Office Use

The results of the vote on allowing candidates of the Democratic Party that were not endorsed by FCCPR use our office was 82-12 in favor.

State Rep. Paul Mark will be in contact with us if they need to use the office.

Thanks to all who took part in the vote.
