FCCPR in Action

Municipal Socialism Conference

On March 30, over 135 people gathered at the Municipal Socialism conference to discuss ways for Towns to
increase democracy and provide services without corporations reaping a profit from those services.

Participants in the Affordable Housing workshop.

Very soon we will be posting videos of some of the workshops and of the keynote address by Gianpaolo Baiocchi. We will also be posting notes that were taken in the workshops. One action coming out of the conference is that many people were talking about forming an FCCPR Housing task force.


Education Task Force Meets with Area
Legislators

On April 1, members of the FCCPR Education Task Force met with our Senators Jo Comerford and Adam Hinds, and with Rep. Natalie Blais


Greenfield FCCPR Platform

For the last 6 months Greenfield members of FCCPR have been meeting to develop a platform for the 2019 town elections in Greenfield. At the last General Assembly the finishing touches were put on and the method was adopted that FCCPR will use to endorse candidates in Greenfield.

Don’t Stop & Shop at Stop & Shop

The workers at Stop and Shop are still on strike against demands by Ahold/Delhaize that they agree to cutting wages, increasing costs of health insurance, and cutting their pension. Ahold/Delhaize made close to 2 billion dollars in profits last year and received $244 million in tax cuts from the Trump tax deal.
