Join us at the Greenfield Energy Park at 11:30 AM as we make fun of you-know-who’s stupid military parade. We hope to have our own celebration of democracy. Sign up on Mobilize.

11:30 Gather at the Energy Park, 50 Miles St., Greenfield MA

Please consider a zany costume, noisemakers, appropriate props, placards of all sorts and flags.

12:00/12:15 March (parade-style) to the Greenfield Common in the center of town. We will turn LEFT when we get to Main St, cross Main near Wells St., then march to the intersection of Main and Federal streets and cross at the lights to the Common. The march will be no longer than roughly ⅓ mile. The Greenfield Police is aware of our plan.

Please be respectful of people on the sidewalk who are going in the opposite direction!

12:30 Speakers and Music at the Town Common. After that, we will do a visibility standout on the four corners of Federal St with our placards, signs and flags. The event will conclude by 1:30.

Parking: We suggest you park in the Chapman/Davis Parking lot, accessible from both Chapman and Davis streets from Pleasant Street. There is also the Olive St. parking garage, between Federal and Hope streets.

Amenities: Sorry, none. Consider bringing water, snacks, and suntan lotion if it isn’t raining. There’s currently a 30% chance of rain, but we march, rain or shine.

Security: We do not foresee any serious issues; however, it doesn’t hurt to be prepared for hecklers. Our policy is to disengage and avoid conversation with hecklers. We practice non-violence at all of our events. Please see the Action Guidelines for a Peaceful Protest from the No Kings organizers. Our primary goal is to build the movement.

Our event in context: Check out this excellent 7 minute video from Heather Cox Richardson.
