FCCPR Hosts Gubernatorial Candidate Forum January 6, 4-6 p.m., Greenfield Middle School

[Update 1/16/18: Read questions and hear candidate responses.]

We believe that Charlie Baker can be defeated in 2018.  Massachusetts has far more Democrats than Republicans, and Bernie Sanders and Doug Jones have demonstrated that the right kind of campaign can drive up voter turnout and lead to unexpected victories.  Let’s show the pundits they are wrong again! [Watch the webcast.]

Jay Gonzalez, Bob Massie and Setti Warren are the three announced contenders for the Democratic nomination for Governor – and they have all accepted FCCPR’s invitation to make their case in Franklin County!

Please join us at the Greenfield Middle School, 195 Federal St., on Saturday, Jan. 6, from 4 to 6 p.m. to hear the candidates and ask them questions.  The FCCPR Coordinating Committee  has sent the candidates in advance the first five questions, and then audience members will have lots of opportunity to ask additional questions.  We hope the forum will draw out distinctions among the candidates, help us see what they believe on issues central to FCCPR’s program, and let us decide who can best excite and mobilize Massachusetts voters.

Doors open at 3:30 p.m.

FCCPR members will soon afterwards decide whether to endorse one of the candidates.  If you are not yet a member, you can join for 2018 here.

Co-sponsors of the forum include, so far, the Democratic town committees of Ashfield, Colrain, Erving, Greenfield, Leyden, Montague, New Salem, Shelburne, Shutesbury and Sunderland; and Indivisible Noho.
